Bowerbirds have a unique and elaborate courtship behavior, in which the male builds the bower, decorates it, and then performs various displays to attract a female. The female will then inspect the bower construction and, if she is impressed, will mate with the male. After mating, the female will lay eggs and care for the young, while the male continues to maintain and decorate the bower in preparation for attracting another mate.
